Here’s a couple of London-based cycle chic-inspired photographic events. Seeing these makes Cardiff Cycle Chic feel like organising a bicycle photography event in Cardiff in the future – maybe at our favourite, the 3rd Floor Gallery, in the Bay perhaps?
In ‘City Cycle Style’, fashion photographer Horst A. Friedrichs, builds up a full, and very glossy, exhibition of cool characters on bicycles, including fashion-guru/ avid cyclist Sir Paul Smith. These are particularly great images, however the video of the event does make it feel a little bit false. Maybe it’s the wealth that’s distorting it? As others have commented, this video is OK for about the first 1 minute, then we’re not so sure.
In ‘Like Riding a Bike‘, a group of slightly too officious people stop and photograph cyclists in the London Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea. To be honest we’re glad we don’t need to wear a day-glo vest and get people to sign a form to feature them on Cardiff Cycle Chic! Anyway, here’s an interesting background video of their work.
I would love to organising a bicycle photography event in Cardiff in the future –The 3rd Floor Gallery looks amazing !
