Thanks Christian. In the UK anyway there’s an interesting effect where we are seeing a massive increase in the sale of racing bicycles (particular for middle aged men – “MAMILS”), and conversely seeing younger groups choosing from a much wider selection of bicycles, including 1970s style shopper bikes. What’s amazing in Cardiff is the number of recycled/ renovated bicycles around – it’s so much more affordable and has made cycling even more accessible (and cooler we think). And that, we certainly like!

I am surprised to see more and more photos of Europeans riding road bikes – I have always admired the great street bikes I saw, and personally given up riding a road bike a long time ago.
