As we’re sure you know Paul Smith, the globally known fashion designer is well associated with cycling. In fact we’ve blogged about Paul before. But very few will have heard the name Arjun Khanna, one of India’s most prominent menswear designers and avid cyclist.

Like many of us, Arjun’s love for bicycles and cycling has permeated into everything he does, none more so that during this spring’s Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, where Arjun showed his special vintage collection for men. With cycling the main element of his collection, and with models strikingly painted and wheeling bicycles down the catwalk, his show was an incredible way to close the event. Bravo!

Arun comes from Anglesey and makes the trip down to Cardiff most weeks to work. But that doesn’t stop him riding his bicycle which he takes on the train and rides as much as he can. From mountains and trails to the city streets, Arun rides, and when it’s cold he breaks out his hat (and ears!).

A few days ago we featured Lucien who’d got his bicycle from a new bicycle renovator/ recycler in the city. Yesterday we found out who’d created this lovely baby blue machine. It was Dan from Rollquick, based in Roath, in the east of the city. It’s great to see yet another retro bicycle crew set up in the city. Nice one Rollquick!

SPIN London (3 – 5 May 2013) was the worlds’ first urban focused bicycle consumer show & festival. Based in East London, over 5000 people visited the event. They even had a pedal powered cinema…Unfortunately we couldn’t get to the event, but to make up for it we’re glad that fellow blogger James Greig from ‘CycleLove’ managed to capture the event with some great images. Cardiff Cycle Chic met up with George outside the architecturally iconic Royal Welsh College for Music and Drama in Cardiff. Riding a reconditioned late 1950s, or perhaps early 1960s, Raleigh bicycle with white wall tyres and those short mudguard you don’t see anymore, George’s bicycle is perfect for comfortably pedalling around the city. Bravo!
