It’s a dog’s life…

One cold and sunny day in the Bay a few weeks ago, Cycle Chic met Marilyn, Scott and Brandy the dog. Sporting a couple of folding Bromptons, the trio were out for a spin around the parks, cycle routes and scenic parts of Cardiff. Dressed in outdoor wear that wouldn’t go amiss on the slopes…

Belle

Cycle chic caught up with Belle on one of those days when a cup of tea in front of a fire would be a welcome alternative to riding in heavy rain, road awash with big puddles and coloured by the glazed reflection of streetlights. In the other two photographs taken of Belle, you can actually…

Laura

Laura rides from Roath to the Bay each day dressed in the finest way. With a beautiful beret with cute bow, warm scarf, wonderfully cut tweed-like coat, warm knit gloves and gorgeous shoes, Laura is, like Catrin a few days ago, a marvelous example of someone that’s beautifully dressed but ¬†doesn’t feel it necessary to…

Catrin

Catrin is the epitome of elegance on a bicycle. Shunning other forms of transport, Catrin’s found a perfect match in bicycle and fashion style. With wonderful double breasted long coat, deep plum coloured shoes and beautifully embroidered fingerless gloves, Catrin surely deserves a Cycle Chic five stars. Simply wonderful.

Jamie

Cycle Chic spotted Jamie largely due to his bicycle handling skills. Like many track bike (fixed wheel) riders, he spends a lot of time balancing a red traffic lights – unsurprisingly called a ‘track stand’. This pose is quite distinctive; wheel turned at an angle and small backward and forward movements made to maintain balance….

Joe

Joe has such a natural and warm personality. Cycle Chic caught up with her as she made her way to work early one evening, and she was all smiles at the idea of being photographed for the blog. Her style is also natural; a mix of warm autumn-coloured hair and clothes in browns, greys and…

Edward

Edward has a real country-gent look. He would have been a perfect and natural participant of last month’s Harris Hack. Sporting a tailored tweed jacket, country cheque shirt and woven tie, Edward wouldn’t look out of place in the more sartorial 1930’s and 40’s. With stout leather boots and an ex-post office, rod-braked bicycle, Edward…

Fran

Fran’s originally from Germany but now works at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff. When Cycle Chic caught up with her, she explained that she helps promote cycling at the Centre. Bravo! She was also a bit sad at missing the Harris Hack, which launched Cardiff Cycle Chic last month. Don’t worry Fran, there will…

Larna

Larna’s staying warm on her bicycle in a range of knits, great long fingerless mittens, woolly socks and stout brown boots. With a shock of wonderful hair, she’s got a great look that’s perfect transitional wear, as Autumn starts to chill to become Winter.

Fadi

Cardiff Cycle Chic spotted Fadi from miles away. He stood out from the crowd with his amazing look. Sporting a Christian Dior scarf, tailored jacket and winklepicker-esque brogues in matching grey suede, he’s a true fashionista. Fadi’s from the Lebanon and is studying dentistry in Cardiff. He used the OYBikes (soon to be no more)…

Beatrice

Beatrice has masses of winter style. Dressed in sheepskin coat, oversized beret, bright scarf and warm boots, she’s totally ready for the night time streets of Cardiff. No need to change out of cycling clothes or lug a helmet around when meeting friends for a drink – she’s got it sorted. Very cycle chic. Perfecto!

Liudmila

Liudmila’s from Poland, and currently living and working in Cardiff. Well that was until yesterday… When Cycle Chic caught up with her, she’d just lost her job at the St David’s Hotel. Boo! We were the first to speak to her after being sacked, and she looked just a little bit lost on her old…
