Bill Cunningham New York: Welsh Premier: Details Announced!

For decades, this bicycle riding street photographer has been obsessively and inventively chronicling fashion trends and high society charity soirées for the New York Times’ Style section in his columns “On the Street” and “Evening Hours.” Documenting uptown fixtures (Anna Wintour, Tom Wolfe, Brooke Astor, David Rockefeller—who all appear in the film out of their love for Bill), downtown eccentrics and everyone in between, Cunningham’s enormous body of work is more reliable than any catwalk as an expression of time, place and individual flair. In turn, Bill Cunningham New York is a delicate, funny and often poignant portrait of a dedicated artist whose only wealth is his own humanity and unassuming grace.

Cardiff Cycle Chic is bringing this film to Cardiff in partnership with Chapter. The film will be screened from Monday 26 – 29 March 2012, with the Welsh premier of this film on Monday 26 March, 6:15 p.m.

Half of the seats of this premier have been allocated to guests of Cardiff Cycle Chic, including some of the most prominent fashion designers, bloggers, photographers, gallerists and media in South Wales. In addition to a big screen showing of Cardiff Cycle Chic photographs before the viewing, including some as yet unpublished, Chapter have kindly waivered the advertising for this special viewing to allow Cycle Chic and a guest speaker, to introduce the film. This guest speaker will be announced soon!

After this showing, there will be a guest area for drinks and good times…If you want to see this unique viewing in the UK, then make sure you book the remaining open tickets to the 26 March, 6:15pm premier at Chapter’s box office.

See you there!
