Rob Penn, author of “It’s All About the Bike: the Pursuit of Happiness on Two Wheels”, journalist and TV presenter entertained an enthusiastic group of cycle-lovers last night at the Crofts Pub in Cardiff. Organised as part of the Cardiff Cycle Festival, the evening got off to a flying start (literally) with a race between two bike shops (Cyclopaedia and Reg Braddick) to reconstruct a bicycle and race around the block. Although Cyclopaedia was faster at the bike build, they lost their way on the road and Reg Braddick swooped in to clinch first place.
After the race Rob entertained with anecdotes as the audience questioned him on all things bicycle. From ‘what unusual things to take on a long bicycle tour?’ to ‘how do you get permission from your wife to get away on the bike?’, the questions were certainly diverse. It was a lovely evening. Nice one Rob!
